Bi Gan's new film Long Day's Journey Into Night is wonderful follow-up to his knockout debut 'Kaili Blues'. The film is grandeur of achievement in technical aspects but technique never overwhelms the feeling. This is most immersive cinematic experience at the movies for me. I've never experienced anything like this before. Long Day's Journey Into Night tells the solitary life of Lu Hongwu (Huang Jue), who is haunted by lost-love and regret. He embarks on a journey of finding his lost love where his past and present merged in a dream. In the first hour of the film, we explores the journey of the protagonist in a neon-soaked world, in two timelines switching between present and past. The atmosphere in Kaili is dense with neon lights, raindrops and smoke. Throughout the film, the aesthetics - the location, colours, lights plays the important role in mood of the film. Seventy minutes in, we get a cue from protagonist saying put 3D glasses on and...

I wrote this piece when film released. It's been nearly four years and the dynamic-duo are back with a bang. After coming out of theater, one thing was sure-The pair that never goes wrong. Master film-maker Martin Scorsese who made wonderful films -Taxi Driver, Goodfellas, The Departed, Shutter Island, Gangs of New York and The Aviator delivered another masterpiece. Damn!Leonardo DiCaprio, you blown my mind out of proportion. In 2011-J.Edger,2012- Django Unchained,2013,May-The Great Gatsby...every year giving his best.. He is like chasing mountains and moving ahead..I like that more..:) The comedy in movie has Marty's mark like in The Departed and Goodfellas. The speech about "Greed" and "Money",crawling on carpet, getting into the car,the way he talks to the clients...every scene is perfect. Its amazing, insanely amazing three-hour film and doesn't drag a single bit. Thanks to Indian Censor Board for accepting the F-words.:) :)

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline My rating: 5 of 5 stars Pure geeky '80s pop-culture stuff. Brilliant and unpredictable. My first read in sci-fi genre turned out to be wonderful. Enjoyed it to the core. Spielberg gonna make it a good fit for the big screen. Can't wait to see it. #ReadyPlayerOne View all my reviews

Blade Runner 2049 is one of the most anticipated film of 2017. Directed by Denis Villeneuve, who helmed this year’s blockbuster "Arrival". Trailer has some wonderful shots. I can already imagine Roger Deakins holding Oscar. It has same look and feel of original. Blade Runner 2049 will be released on 6 October 2017. Check the trailer:  Blade Runner 2049 Announcement In 2017, the story continues.

Everything you heard about the film is true. All the hype is real. It's one of the stunning cinematic piece of 2016. La La Land is directed by Damien Chazelle starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone. The story revolves around two beautiful characters -Mia (Emma Stone) and Sebastian(Ryan Gosling).  Damien Chazelle, the guy who made adrenaline-charged WHIPLASH back with another wonderful film. The most interesting thing about Chazelle is his love or obsession for JAZZ . And it's quite indescribable. First Guy and Madeline on a Park Bench, then Whiplash and Now La La Land. Each film is centered around jazz. With La La Land, Chazelle finished the trilogy of " Jazz-musician-fall-in-love-with-beautiful-women-and-goes-through-break-up-eventually-to-achieve-greater-things-in-life". II've very high expectations as he already started working on his next project " First-Man" about Neil Armstrong journey to Moon. Every aspect of the film is spectacular....

The full trailer for Christopher Nolan's latest magnum opus "Dunkirk" is out and it looks pretty good. Expecting few tracking shots(like the one from #PathsOfGlory) and Point-of-View (POV) shots in film. Most of my friends are slightly disappointed with new trailer. But I heard 5-minute prologue will sold you for sure. Dunkirk will feature over 100 minutes of footage in full IMAX 😍😍. And this is gonna be first movie  in cinematic history featuring over 100 minutes of IMAX 70MM footage. Dunkirk is WWII action thriller starring Mark Rylance, Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Kenneth Branagh, James D'Arcy, Harry Styles, Aneurin Barnard, Jack Lowden, and Adam Long. "If you know her life from start to finish, would you change the things?" Dennis Villeneuve new film ARRIVAL is based on Ted Chiang short story- "Story of Your Life". I loved the short story and it's wonderful. Films are rarely as good as books and Arrival is totally succeed in that case. Source:https://www.facebook.com/ArrivalMovie/ Arrival is Brilliant sci-fi flick that's grand in every aspect. Dennis Villeneuve filmmaking, Bradford Young cinematography and Jóhann Jóhannsson melancholy score is phenomenal. And such a heartfelt performance from Amy Adams. She is soul of the film._/\_ Villeneuve is one of the best story-teller of our generation. So much perfection in non-linear narration. PS: In awe of sheer brilliance of Arrival,I stood up and clapped for few seconds. It's amazing experience on Big Screen. Don't miss it. Source:Paramount YouTube channel.

Gentleman directed by the Mohan Krishna Indraganti, who already helmed the *well-received* Astha Chamma, Golconda High School & few other films. He succeeded as good storyteller before Gentleman & tried so hard to impress the audience with twists & turns in this one. Story of gentleman is one plot: how the wrong doings of one guy changed the lives of others. The movie opens with discussion of Ishwarya (Surabhi) & Catherine (Niveda Thomas) abt their personal life & how they fall in love with their boyfriend. By end of the first half we came to know that their bfs is/are Nani. Then we see some not so interesting twists & turns. The movie is trying to be as fascinating as possible but poor screenplay & silly moments make it bad. Most of the film is very slick sometimes. Nani is not only Natural Star but also most consistent in Tollywood. Delivered one more good performance with ease. He is very picky abt roles & succeeds every time. Nivet...

Trivikram Srinivas' AAa..is bitter-sweet flick which has all the elements of regular Trivikram film but offers nothing new in terms of story. In fact, this is what you get when you put together  Attarintiki Daredi & Son of Satyamurthy. As a big fan of Trivikram Srinivas, I'm not satisfied at all. Quite repetitive stuff from Trivikram. He is not doing any experiment with script these days. Just playing it safe. The style of filmmaking wasn't good. This is not the kind of stuff I'm expecting from Trivikram. His earlier works are much better than what's he making now. This is not the same Trivikram I cheered for when I watched Athadu. This is not the style of filmmaking I'm craving from Trivikram.

Sharvanand starrer Run Raja Run was simply cool and full of entertainment film. Director Sujith made decent debut in Tollywood. Director Sujith made a double-digit of short films and all of them were very well received. Now he is a new comer to the Tollywood and he delivered a good film(Leave the illogical scenes).Totally that's a decent debut to the industry. Sharvanand who always encourages new comers and accepts off-beat scripts. His last two films were not up to the mark and not well-received by audience. Now he is back in track. And debutante Seerat Kapoor did a good job.Adivi Sesh cahracter is something different from his prvious films. He totally changed his body language and presented very well. Run Raja Run is brilliantly scripted, very well narrated.Music is really superb. You will hum the tunes after watching the movie.Camera work very pleasant, rich feel to it. Overall,This one is CORKER.

ENEMY:Jake Gyllenhaal meets his doppleganger 2 years ago, I watched French-Canadian Director Dennis Villeneuve Mystery Drama Incendies. My brain is blown away with single twist at the end. But his narration is more fascinating. In 2013,he delivered another thriller “Prisoners”. In between Incendies and Prisoners, he made another movie ENEMY. In the same year, December Enemy selected for Toronto Film Festival. This time, he came up with brilliant script that hooks you till end credits. I heard incredible things about the movie and critics praised it as terrifying and enigmatically Glorious. From then, I waited for the movie to watch in theatre, but it’s not released in India because of limited release. Finally I managed to watch it today. And one more time, I’m absolutely thrilled by Dennis Villeneuve Filmmaking. He is really good at making Drama/Thriller. Honestly, I didn’t understand the movie clearly but I want to write a few lines about the movie(what...

HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON: THE GAME OF DRAGONS DreamWorks Animation and writer-director Dean DeBlois' know perfectly how to impress the audience with sequel. It fly very high and takes you beyond the clouds. It is Adventurous and thrilling 3-D Roller-coaster ride. Unstoppable. In earlier days, I haven't watched any animation movies. In 2010,my brother made me watch How to Train Your Dragon and Kung Fu Panda. I enjoyed these two movies very much and fall in love with these movies. From that day, I regularly watching all animation movies(As much as possible) and of course waited for 5 years for HTTYD part 2. This one nothing less than Part 1.In every aspect the movie is more rich than first one(except writing). Now hiccup is grown up Boy and like to explore the now places.Eventually, he find a secret cave with full of wild dragons and dragon riders. Later, he came to know that something wrong is going on between Humans and dragons. With help of his mother ...

Hate to say it,but Michael bay did it again. He did it one more time.Still,he hasn't lost his touch.Transformers:AoE has all the elements of three previous films including very poor writing, dull characterization, mass destruction and shit loads of mindless action. But you've to praise Michael Bay's technical brilliance i mean,he has his own vision about Transformers. As a fan of Mark Walhberg, I felt he is terribly wasted. The first hour of the movie is good.2nd half lagged too much. The good features are technical Brilliance,BG music & Imagine Dragons 's Soundtrack and DINOBOTS.This is one of the worst theater experiences that I've ever had. 166 Millions and 165 Minutes.I don't understand what's the point of making a film with great visuals without a story in it.?  I felt Transformers: Age of Extinction was made for fans of the franchise. It's time to extinct for Michael Bay's Transformers. My stars:**1/2

"Your hard work feeds us," says Panem's President Snow (Donald Sutherland) in a peek at the movie, due out Nov. 21.

Brad Pitt starrer world war II tank movie "Fury" trailer looks very promising and I hope,it will live up to the expectations.I like War movies and they never disappointed me.Fury is directed by David Ayer, who previously proved himself as Good writer(Training Day) and Brilliant director(End of Watch).Brad Pitt looks Badass in this one.He already killed the Nazis in Inglorious Basterds and one more time preparing for the Battle(Just saying). "Ideals are peaceful... History is violent."That's Good writing.I Like it.

TRANSENDENCE(2014); Modern-day entertaining sci-fi thriller. Decent Directorial Debut by wally Pfister. The movie is full of smart ideas and fascinating visual thrills. It makes you think in a way that you never did before about technology. There's certainly potential in the script but execution was not up to the mark(I hate to say it).I thought,it will turn out as perfect companion for Spielberg's AI,Minority Report .We connected to them emotionally But Transcendence was empty of feeling. If Wally Pfister put more effort on narration and screenplay,it will be extraordinary. As a whole the movie was Good.Michael Danna's BG Score was awesome. MY STARS TO TRANSCENDENCE - ***1/2

It’s been 4 months and here I’m sharing my anticipated movies of 2014(too late). Looks like 2014 is gonna be an epic year and top directors are coming back! 1.Interstellar A Film by Christopher Nolan. The Name says it all. Interstellar is based on the treatment by theoretical physicist, Kip Thorne about wormholes. Nolan co-wrote a screenplay with his brother Jonathan Nolan.Sky-High expectations  on this one. Nolan already got Mat McConaughey,Anne Hathway and Matt Damon on board and music is composed by Hans Zimmer.Best feature of the film is,important scenes are captured with IMAX Cameras.November 7,come soon!! 2.Gone Girl A movie from well-respected filmmaker David Fincher and based on Gillian Flynn’s Novel.I read the book and I loved it.
